Abstract
This article presents a type of atheism emerged in Spain since 1994, through atheist organizations that plead for Clergy / State separation and a democratic secular society. It examines the concept of fundamentalism and religion in front of atheism, and the religious system staging, that situates atheism in a resistance position. We later analyze the atheism fundament, its pretensions, social manifestation through atheist organizations in Spain, and the risks of impose it as a hegemonic discourse. Finally, we present the root causes -unconscious and political- that lead it to act from the margins of society, and not from empowered areas.
